Welcome to Pretty in Ink! We are committed to providing a creative, welcoming, professional, and safe tattoo experience. Please review our studio policies before booking your appointment.

By booking an appointment, paying a deposit, or receiving services from Pretty in Ink, you acknowledge and agree to the applicable terms below.

1. Appointments and Booking

Appointments may be requested through our online booking platform, InkDesk, or directly through the studio.

All appointments are subject to availability and confirmation.

Clients are responsible for providing accurate contact information and arriving on time for scheduled appointments.

2. Nonrefundable Deposits

A nonrefundable deposit is required for appointments when specified during booking.

• Deposits are applied toward the total cost of the scheduled tattoo.
• Deposits are nonrefundable for client-initiated cancellations, except where otherwise required by law.
• Deposits reserve the artist’s time and preparation for the appointment.
• A deposit may be transferred to a rescheduled appointment one time, provided at least 24 hours’ notice is given.
• Additional rescheduling requests may result in forfeiture of the original deposit and require a new deposit.
• Failure to attend an appointment without notice results in forfeiture of the deposit.

If Pretty in Ink cancels an appointment and cannot provide a mutually acceptable alternative, the client may receive a refund of the unused deposit.

3. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

We understand that plans sometimes change!

Clients must provide at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

Clients who provide sufficient notice may transfer their deposit to one rescheduled appointment.

Cancellations or rescheduling requests made with less than 24 hours’ notice may result in forfeiture of the deposit.

Repeated cancellations, missed appointments, or late arrivals may result in additional booking requirements or refusal of future appointments.

Emergency situations may be reviewed individually at the studio’s discretion, subject to applicable law.

4. Age Requirements and Minor Consent

Pretty in Ink accepts minors only when the tattoo procedure is legally permitted and all applicable parental or legal guardian consent requirements have been satisfied.

South Dakota law requires signed parental consent before a minor may be tattooed.

For minor appointments:

• A parent or legal guardian must provide the legally required signed authorization.
• Valid identification and documentation establishing age, identity, and parental or guardian authority may be requested.
• The minor must complete any applicable client consent procedures.
• Pretty in Ink may require the parent or guardian to attend the appointment.
• The artist reserves the right to decline a tattoo based on placement, design, maturity, safety, or other legitimate professional considerations.

Parental consent does not guarantee that a tattoo appointment will be accepted.

5. Health and Safety

All clients must complete the required tattoo consent and health disclosure forms before receiving services.

Clients must disclose relevant health conditions, allergies, medications, skin concerns, and other information that may affect the safety or healing of their tattoo.

Pretty in Ink will not tattoo clients who are visibly under the influence of alcohol or impairing substances.

Services may be postponed or refused when a health or safety concern exists.

Tattooing involves inherent risks, including infection, allergic reactions, scarring, and unpredictable healing. These risks are addressed further in the studio’s separate informed consent documentation.

6. Tattoo Designs and Approval

Pretty in Ink provides custom tattoo services, including detailed, colorful, and specialty artwork.

Clients are responsible for reviewing and approving their tattoo design, spelling, size, colors, and placement before the tattoo begins.

Significant changes to a design may require additional preparation, charges, or rescheduling.

Original artwork remains the intellectual property of its creator unless otherwise agreed in writing.

7. Pricing and Payments

Tattoo pricing is determined by factors including size, complexity, placement, detail, color, and time required.

Quoted prices are estimates unless explicitly confirmed as fixed prices.

Additional work or design changes may affect the final price, and material pricing changes will be discussed with the client before proceeding.

Payment for completed services is due at the conclusion of the appointment unless otherwise agreed.

8. Tattoo Aftercare

Proper aftercare is essential for successful tattoo healing.

Pretty in Ink provides written aftercare instructions following tattoo procedures.

Clients are responsible for following those instructions and avoiding activities or products that may interfere with healing.

Healing outcomes vary depending on skin characteristics, placement, aftercare, and other individual factors.

Clients experiencing signs of infection or serious complications should seek prompt medical attention.

9. Complimentary Touch-Up Policy

Pretty in Ink offers complimentary touch-ups for qualifying tattoos within six months of the original tattoo appointment.

Complimentary touch-ups are intended to address eligible areas where ink retention or healing results require minor correction.

Eligibility is subject to the following conditions:

• The tattoo must have been originally completed at Pretty in Ink.
• The tattoo must be fully healed before a touch-up is performed.
• The client must request the touch-up within six months of the original appointment.
• The client must have followed the aftercare instructions provided.
• The artist must evaluate the tattoo and determine that the requested work qualifies as a complimentary touch-up.

Complimentary touch-ups do not include design changes, additions, expansions, or unrelated new work.

Damage caused by improper aftercare, picking, scratching, sun exposure, or other external factors may not qualify.

Additional exclusions or scheduling requirements will be disclosed before the touch-up appointment is confirmed.

10. Refund Policy

Because tattoo services are customized and permanent, completed tattoo services are generally nonrefundable, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

Clients are encouraged to contact Pretty in Ink promptly regarding concerns with completed work.

Any appropriate corrective service, refund, or other remedy will be evaluated in accordance with the circumstances and applicable law.

11. Gift Certificates

Pretty in Ink offers gift certificates for eligible tattoo services.

• Gift certificates may be applied toward qualifying services.
• Appointments remain subject to studio policies, artist approval, and availability.
• Gift certificates are not redeemable for cash except where required by law.
• Purchased gift certificates are subject to applicable consumer protection laws concerning expiration dates, fees, and remaining balances.
• Promotional gift certificates may have separate, clearly disclosed conditions.

12. Photography and Social Media

Pretty in Ink may request permission to photograph tattoos for portfolios, advertising, website content, or social media.

Promotional photographs will be used only with the client’s appropriate permission.

Clients may decline promotional photography without affecting their eligibility for services.

For minors, appropriate parental or legal guardian authorization will be obtained where required.

13. Studio Conduct

Pretty in Ink strives to maintain a comfortable, respectful, and professional environment.

Harassment, threatening behavior, or conduct that compromises safety will not be tolerated.

The studio reserves the right to refuse or discontinue services for legitimate safety, conduct, or professional reasons, consistent with applicable law.

14. Liability

Clients acknowledge that tattooing involves inherent risks and that results and healing vary.

To the extent permitted by law, Pretty in Ink is not responsible for complications caused by inaccurate client disclosures, failure to follow aftercare instructions, or unrelated external factors.

Nothing in these terms waives rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be waived.

15. Changes to Studio Policies

Pretty in Ink may update these Terms of Service periodically.

Changes will be reflected through an updated effective date. Existing bookings will be handled according to applicable law and any terms agreed upon at booking.
